When we know we are having a good day...
There are several different ways my NYC days can go. One gauge is to see how the lights are on the West Side Highway. Some days, you sail through green light after green light. Other days you are racing each yellow to get through them before they turn red. Still other days have your eyes on the prize, knowing that every second counts, thinking you can make it, until reality hits and you are stopped by the red.
But perhaps the best gauge of how my day is going to turn out comes from Podsy. My most favorite toy. My iPod. 40 gig, thank you very much. And proud holder of over 3,000 songs. Every day, I leave the driveway and start a shuffle. Some days, we start out with something cool, from Mr. Stevie Wonder, or the latest ditty from Franz Ferdinand. Other days, it's Wiggles after Nick, after really-lame-songs-that-you-have-no-idea-how-such-a-lame-song-would-ever-wind-up-on-precious-podsy kind of songs. It's almost a foolproof barometer.
