When Cold Fusion Was Hot

The rantings and ravings of a mostly sane NYC wife, mother, and publishing "executive" (mwah-ha-ha)

My blog, and what I hope to accomplish here

I think you have to start out one of these things by welcoming people. Of course, that assumes that I think anyone will want to read this. I guess I wouldn't be here if I didn't think that was the case, so, welcome.

I find myself lacking an outlet for creativity. I spend much of my day pumping out whatever brilliant, semi-brilliant, and mostly lame ideas I happen to come up with for someone else. It's probably time I did something for ME. For some, that might mean art. That's fine for my kid, but I got pulled from art class in 11th grade because they needed more people for a new sociology class. Sad, but you couldn't fight the man on that one, so instead of decorating eggs, I was one of the masses carrying them around as "pretend kids."

So, writing. Blogging. It's worth a try. Let's see where this thing takes us.

Oh, and as far as the title of this blog - I used to work in a field where scientific smarty-pants types droned on and on relentlessly about topics I could not care less about. Once, in the middle of a particularly painful rant, the Nerd stopped and said, "Well, of course, that was when cold fusion was hot." Meaning that cold fusion was an area that was easy to get funding for, but it wasn't like that anymore. He probably had no clue that it was a pun, nor did the chuckles of some of us in the meeting clue him in. I've always thought it was a fitting phrase for my life, hence the inclusion in the blog.
